Learn More About Houston ISD’s Proposed Bond
Over a decade has passed since HISD has invested in its high school facilities through a bond election, for elementary and middle schools it has been nearly twenty years. In the meantime, our schools have faced significant health and safety issues, including unsafe levels of lead, constant issues with heating and cooling, and facilities with outdated security features.
HISD’s bond offer an opportunity to improve schools for our kids and teachers, as well as invest in future-readiness, without increasing taxes. If approved by voters, all campuses will receive funding to address health and safety, and high-need campuses will be partially or fully rebuilt. To prepare our kids for the future, the bond would also provide funding for expanding pre-K programming and constructing career-focused centers to serve the whole district.
