Ratings for the Meeting on January 16

With the new calendar year comes a new Board of Education, as four newly elected trustees were sworn in just before the public board meeting last Thursday. Although the agenda was shorter than usual, trustees were able to demonstrate their commitment to working together by unanimously electing new officers. Unanimity is not always a goal, but in this instance, it does go a long way in showing the trustees’ commitment to spending less time on their own political ideology and more time on students. Given the short agenda – and the fact that zero minutes in this first meeting were spent directly discussing student outcomes – trustee core value report cards are short and similar to one another this month. We look forward to seeing the work of this new board in the months to come.
