2019 HISD School Board Candidate Forum

HISD Board of Education elections will be held on November 5, 2019. The seats for Districts II, III, IV, and VIII are up for election. Houston GPS is hosting a public forum for all candidates in these races. The forum will allow the public to hear more about each candidate and their positions on issues that are pressing in HISD. The deadline for candidates to file, August 19, 2019, has passed. Below is a complete list of all the candidates running in each district.

Endorsement Process

All candidates are invited to submit a screening questionnaire to our staff and Leadership Council.

All candidates are invited to participate in our public forum on Thursday, August 22, 2019.

Following the forum, Houston GPS members vote on which candidate should be endorsed in each race.*

All candidates who do not receive a unanimous vote of the general membership must be approved by a majority vote of the Leadership Council.

*Voting is only open to those who are members of Houston GPS by August 1, 2019 (annual membership fee of $10 paid on or before 8/1/19).
